Good Luck Chad! We'll Miss You!

Chad reports to boot camp (Army) on Tuesday and we will miss him. We got one more quality bonding experience before he left. You can see by the picture below that it involved knuckleheads and guns. Not always the best combo but when someone who has the training Chad does it turns out alright. After some instruction and basic info we were feeling good. Notice my sexy blue plastic gun.
We drove out to Jeremy's brother's house in Yacolt to set up shop. Here is a nice shot of my ear. Ha, "shot", get it? Maybe not. OK, I'll move on.
Jeremy seemed to be having a little trouble with his gun. That seemed to be a common theme throughout the session. If it wasn't the gun it was those dirty targets moving around.
Shooting with my eyes open got to be too easy so I decided to try it with them closed.
One handed? Yeah, I got that.

Hold it right there Mr. Box. Just give me an excuse to pump your guts full of lead.

Thanks CHAD! You'll be in our prayers.

Bridal Veil Falls and Robin

Aunt Robin jumped on a plane Friday morning and came to visit for the weekend. We loved having you and kind of wished you could have stayed a day or two more. It was nice while it lasted.

We have had sun and seventies the last two days so decided to take advantage of it. We started off with the intentions of visiting Multnomah Falls but the wait to find a parking space was ridiculous so we did an about face and went to Bridal Veil Falls. One nice thing about the Columbia River Gorge is there is no shortage of fun/cool things to see.

This was waiting for a parking space. I'm not sure what Davis did to cause his sisters to flee to the other side of the van but he is quite pleased with himself. This was the river flowing away from the base of the falls. I'm not sure why we didn't take a picture with the falls in the background. This is Bridal Veil Falls. So we are just sitting there minding our own business, admiring the falls, and this guy in a kayak appears at the base of the first falls. I thought he was tethered to the rocks and just practicing his paddling. But then he turned around...and WENT OVER THE FALLS! I missed the picture in the middle but it was cool. He obviously came out alright as you can see. His friend/brother/fellow crazy person thought it looked like so much fun he ran off to the truck to get his kayak. Several people in our party had to pee so we left before the second guy went over but it was an interesting trip to Bridal Veil Falls. So it turns out this guys name is Todd Wells. Check the comments of this post. He happened to stumble across our blog and here is the link to his site with better pictures and a video of his Bridal Veil Falls drop that we witnessed. Thanks Tood. keep up the good work! http://toddwellswhitewater.blogspot.com/ All the rushing water takes its toll on young bladders.

Oh yeah, and Davis lost his first tooth!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! We had a great Easter weekend full of eggs, candy, overcast weather (not raining), candy, ham, candy, and a very warm chapel. We did the three Easter egg hunt tour again this year because we just can't get enough. The more cheap plastic eggs laying around on the floor to step on and break the better, right? Sidnee is the Activities Director in our ward and the egg hunt on Saturday was her first official act in office. As you can see from the picture below she was concerned about drowning in a potential downpour hence the life vest and boots.
I don't want to brag but look who's kid that is leading the pack. Those other kids don't even know which way is up and Jack is almost out of sight. He gets his blazing speed from his mom.
"What kind of egg is this?"
I was just going to put one picture of a kid with their bucket full of eggs but feared the wrath of Sidnee for not putting one of the other kids on too so you get to enjoy all four egg hunting children in all their commercialized holiday glory.

Luke is happy with two.
Good eye Jack. It takes a special talent to spot anything in ivy. I must have lost a hundred whiffle balls in that same stinkin ivy patch when I was a kid.
The Easter Bunny lounging after a hard afternoon of pooper scooping the yard and hiding eggs.
The whole crew, cousins and all.
Cute kid coloring eggs. Go Cougars!
This picture was taken just after the entire cup of yellow dye was spilled all over the table and on the floor. I enjoyed cleaning that up. Highlight of the morning.
Which one is which? Check the pole question.

It's spring break and raining. What shall we do?

What shall we do on a rainy spring break day? We went to OMSI and out to lunch with dad, but now what? I was teasing when I said we could jump on the tramp in the rain with our swimsuits on. But that is the idea they were the most excited about! (Duh?!) So, that lasted all of 5 minutes and it was over! Fun to do, for only a few minutes!
These two only watched and wished they could be out there too! Can we come in now? We are freezing!
